The Sandusky Farmer's Market is sponsored by Firelands Regional Medical Center. Located in picturesque downtown Sandusky, Ohio, the market runs from June through October. It takes place every Saturday morning from 8am until 12pm on the corner of Hancock and Market Street. The market boasts over 30 vendors selling a wide variety of products ranging from fruits and vegetables to handmade childrens clothes.
A staple of the downtown Sandusky community, the market is the longest running farmer's market in the Sandusky area. It has been in operation for over 30 years. The Sandusky Farmer's Market is owned by the Sandusky Main Street Association, sponsored by Firelands Regional Medical Center, and managed by Chris & Abby Schwanger.
SANDUSKY MAIN STREET ASSOCIATION
Sandusky Main Street Association is a local, non-profit organization that provides leadership, education, and advocacy to save our downtown’s diverse historic places and to promote economic development initiatives. Historic preservation and downtown revitalization enrich our quality of life, enhance our neighborhoods, and revitalize communities as better places to live, work, and visit.
Historically operating as a local downtown waterfront development organization, we evolved in 2001 into the Sandusky Main Street Association by adopting the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s four-point approach. In 2002, we applied for official “Ohio Main Street Program” status; we received that designation in early 2003 and by January 2005 we received the distinguished title of “National Main Street Community” which we have continually earned each of the following years.
The SMSA is governed by a Board of Trustees which includes officers and committee chairs. Board of Trustees meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 8:00 a.m. General Stakeholders meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month in the Sandusky Library at 8am and are open to the public.
